HIV/AIDS - Grasping the reality of its gender dimension (September 2000)
Current campaigns to prevent the further spread of HIV/AIDS have largely been unsuccessful. A major reason for this failure is that campaigns have often failed to recognise the role unequal gender relation play in supporting the spread of the disease. The report gives insights into understanding the impact of gendered norms within the realms of sexuality, power and culture.
